I went down to the city and tried
Although the promise I made
could not be kept
I went down to the city and tried
Even the cold could not chill
my haunted mind
I went down to the city and tried
To compensate the loss that I´d caused
'what a waste'
I could not be late
'Cause in ev'ry waking hour
I run on 'round, around, around
And 'cause I´m tired I seek out
What is fast and shallow
It´s all right there, ready,
Around me, Surrounds, Surrounds Me
I went up to a sister and tried
To understand what I lost
in my first hand
I went up to a brother and tried
To bridge a gap, to connect,
some ancient way
I went up to a sister and said
"when we succeed to build our own space,
will I know? it is hard to tell"
And in ev'ry waking hour
I run on 'round, around, around
But sometimes I´ll seek out
What is slow and thorough
It´s all right there, ready,
Around me, Surrounds, Surrounds Me.

I was brought here after listening to a live performance of Makaya's on you tube. I instantly loved the song Holy Lands so much that I had to see if the album version was the same rendition as the live one. Then I listened to the whole album! Universal Beings is a just a groove... It's a mix of traditional and something new, very nice. pandr1900

I didn't know the work of these two musicians. I bought the album blindfloded. And after some tracks I tought: "What an album!". Jo Berger Myhre and Olafur Björn Ólafsson are creators of a wonderful and surprising album, full of amazing sounds and capable of transporting the listener to the middle of an ocean, to the top of a mountain or to a great and vast plain. Irish singer-songwriter Sarah E. Cullen bares her heart over pastoral folk arrangements enshrouded in a dream-pop haze. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 29, 2021

Absolutely stunning album, blending folk, synth explorations and free improv into a sound that keeps you on your toes and surprised throughout the whole running order. Benjamin van Vliet
